Borders tweed lap quilt

This beautiful lap quilt has been made from Borders cashmere tweed which is very light and soft , then edged with cream Harris tweed to give the quilt some weight.

I have had the tweed squares in my stash for years but today I suddenly knew what to do with them and spent a happy few hours combining the squares and sewing them together. The colours are so harmonious and helped to brighten a dark, wet day in Glasgow.

It is a good size for a lap quilt 75cm x 90 cm  and has a cream cotton backing. I think this might work well as a large cushion too.
